- Open your Avast interface and go to 'Menu' » 'My licenses'. You can also get there by right-clicking on the systray Avast icon and selecting 'Registration information'
- Click on 'Enter a valid activation code'
- Enter the license key and confirm by clicking 'ENTER'
- Now you should be able to use the free protection for the full year valid until 03/19/2020. You can check the subscription details in the 'My licenses' area

What's the Difference Between Serial Key and Activation Code
Basically none. Some users are referring to this unique code as a serial key while some as an activation code. Serial key is being the more old-school term. Within the product user interface, Avast always talks about the activation code.
Avast serial key for all products is always 18 characters long divided into 3 sections (6-6-6). Sometimes this piece of characters is also being called serial number, but that's wrong in case of Avast as it always contains both characters and numbers.

- In your Applications folder, double-click the Avast icon to open the application.
- Click Avast in the menu bar on the top-left of the screen and select Uninstall Avast Premium Security.
- Click Uninstall.
- If prompted, use your Touch ID or enter your Administrator password and click OK to grant permission for the uninstallation.
- Click Quit.
Avast Security is removed from your Mac.
